About Us

GlobalYell has been working in textiles education and training since 2006 when a generous donation of weaving equipment was made by ASF Weave, formerly the Ann Sutton Foundation.

The charity is led by Andy Ross, who lives in New Zealand but lived for 20 years in Shetland where the organisation is based, and who has a special interest in textiles. Andy grew up in Zimbabwe where there is a strong textiles tradition and comes from a family who knits, sews and creates using fabrics and yarns.
