Singing Saturdays

Singing Saturdays is our exciting performance group for young people aged seven to fourteen. The group started in 2009, and we run two sessions of ten weeks each year, one in the Spring/ Summer  and the other for Christmas.

Each series gives young performers the opportunity to  work as part of a team, creating and putting on a performance in public. Over the past few years, we have created performances for the Tall Ships, Shetland’s Hamefarin’, and of course, Christmas! The group works on dances, costumes, lyrics and music together, and puts everything together for a public performance in a local theatre.

Singing Saturdays is led by a team of instructors, Alison Martin on piano and voiceand  Andy Ross for vocals and direction. We also work with John Morris long-distance via Skype and email. We bring other artists in to work with the group, including dialect teachers, drummers and drama coaches to give our young performers the opportunity to learn different new things.

If you are a budding performer or you know someone who is, and you want to be involved in creating musical theatre, contact us by email or contact Andy Ross on 01957 744 355.
