Zimbabwe textiles

Zimbabwean textiles are not as well-known as those of other African countries, and yet they deserve to be. We are the proud owners of a beautiful hanging, created in squares sewn together, depicting a woman's day in applique, embroidery and stitchwork, which was made by Cornelia Nemungando in Bulawayo, the town where I grew up.
