Zimbabwe textiles

Zimbabwean textiles are not as well-known as those of other African countries, and yet they deserve to be. We are the proud owners of a beautiful hanging, created in squares sewn together, depicting a woman's day in applique, embroidery and stitchwork, which was made by Cornelia Nemungando in Bulawayo, the town where I grew up. The BBC has recently put up this photo-essay on art in Zimbabwe and I am very glad to see textile pieces included. Fantastic! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-17565574
