Another Wool Week done

Well, Wool Week has been and gone. And what a success!

Workshops, events, tours and the like. Plenty of visitors and much excited chatter. Talks and conversations. It has definitely been a week to remember, and people are now talking about Wool Week for 2017.

The number of visitors coming up to the North has been encouraging. Some made the trip especially to see us, some were just passing through on their way to see lace knitting in Unst. But all have been admiring the tweed exhibition and Alvin-the-loom weaving away. We have had interesting conversations about Swedish linen weaving, and engineering problems associated with warping up and weaving. Kirsty, ably assisted by Daisy, has been running workshops, and it has been a busy and productive atmosphere in the studio. Congratulations to the Wool Week committee and to everyone involved in the event. Onwards, as they say, and upwards!
