What's in a song?

I sometimes use music as a way to fill in the gaps but when something tremendous comes along, I have to really listen. This morning's walk brought me Randy Crawford's version of "Everybody's Talking at Me", and I simply had to share it! I love the words - from the loneliness of the first line to the lightness of a stone "skipping over the ocean", the words are truly inspired and, in Ms Crawford's recording, I don't think she is sad or lonely as the original is purported to be, Â but full of joy and peace. That extra last line where she floats "leave" on the highest note is truly magical, I think...
