Warner textile archive

Recently a friend sent a link to a design archive which has kept us enthralled and engrossed.

Warner and Sons were manufacturers of cloth, some of the finest available in the early part of the twentieth century. The company stopped weaving in 1971 and, thanks to avid collecting and storage, an archive was available for the public. In 2004 the collection returned to Braintree in Essex where it is now stored.

Have a look at the website  to see what the company produced. Under The Collection there are two links - World War One and Costume, and, although there are not many pictures, those that are on the website are beautiful and make us want to visit immediately!
