Wadih al-Safi

The Lebanese singer, Wadih al-Safi has passed away as reported on the BBC.

In this clip on YouTube, he appears with Najwa Karam, and I love the intricate rhythms and longing that the song starts with. I do not know much about his music but I did find this set of samples of him singing. If you like the sound (as I do) have a listen to more on last.fm.
