Shem, Ham & Japheth Inc.
Feliks Topolski was born in Poland and became a celebrated artist and designer, mostly for his Chronicles, which recorded 30 years of world history and politics, and for his work produced as a war artist.
In this book about the artist's encounters with the USA, sketches, designs, paintings and writings come together in a volume that was published in 1971. The book, called Shem, Ham & Japheth Inc, includes verses, some of which were set by a young David Fanshawe of African Sanctus fame. The book was known by Topolski as a "multi-offering", what we would now call "multimedia", merging art, illustration, text and music.
The Victoria and Albert Museum has other examples of the artist's work as does the National Portrait Gallery.
Shem, Ham & Japheth has now been added to the studio collection.
