Technology and the pace of life

If you are anything like me, the frenetic pace of life in the world today sometimes is bewildering. But sometimes it is exhilarating! I am doing a module for a BA in Music at Rose Bruford College via distance learning, and have just been listening to a recording on Naxos, streamed to my computer, while following the musical score as a downloaded pdf from the International Score Library. Amazing resources and easy to use too!

A few years ago, this would not have been possible and we students were being sent large files of paper and had to buy lots of expensive books to do this course. Now, it is easily accessed and cheaper. It does make me wonder about the book and music publishers, and the artists and musicians that rely on income from sales of material. The world is indeed a-changing.
