Talks which had us streaming...

Many folk cannot believe that here in Yell, surrounded by the North Sea, we have such an international outlook. Shetland has always been cosmopolitan and multi-cultural, naturally enough for a seafaring nation, and we are lucky enough to be able to continue that tradition by working with people from all over the world.

This weekend, as part of Wool Week, we held a talk in Yell with Kathy Schicker and Stacey Harvey-Brown, who have spent a few days absorbing all that is special about the islands. In a first for us, we streamed the talk live on our channel on ustream.tv and the feedback was very positive. Thanks everyone for taking part in the experiment; it is good to be able to do this.

We intend to have this channel in use whenever there is something interesting going on here, and we want to make the talks a regular part of what we do. Stacey and Kathy did a grand job, and enthused, enthralled and amazed us with what they are doing. Check out their work on theloomroom for Stacey and Kathy Schicker.com.
