Shetland in the storm
If you live in the UK (and possibly even if you don't) you will know that the islands got the full force of Storm Gertrude this week.
It was a very bad afternoon on Friday. Everyone stayed indoors because there was a red warning out meaning that the weatehr posed a danger to life. The wind gathered speed and at its height the islands of Unst and Fetlar disappeared behind a wall of sea spray. The loch nearby was whipped up into a mist and huge waves rolled by in the Sound. If it weren't so dangerous I would have some photographs but it was impossible to stand outside so the best we can do is a link to Shetnews with video footage. .
Thank you to everyone who sent emails and texts asking after us. We are all fine and there is no damage at the studios.
