The sound of light

Across in Germany, sunlight is being changed into sound. 

A project, housed in a former music pavilion, has been created to capture light and change the wavelengths into soundwaves. It may not sound like the most restful music ever but is interesting and I quite like the balloon shapes and colours of the sculpture. Given that our days are shortening in the Northern Hemisphere now, I wonder if that will affect the quality of the sound. Perhaps summer is not only a riot of colour but of sound too?
