Solar curtains

From the website of Design Indaba, the Cape Town design publication and Festival, comes interesting news about a curtain which can make energy from sunlight.

Thanks to one of our regular contributors - Cheers, reader - we have found out about two Dutch companies, Inside Out and TextieLab, which are collaborating to produce fabrics which act as solar panels. It is a great project and one that has a wealth of possibilities for the future of energy consumption, but I am a little confused by the terminology of the article which states that the curtain is woven but also that it is knitted. Can anyone out there shed light on the mystery for us?
