Singing Saturdays t-shirts - a personal message.

As you may know, I was born and grew up in Zimbabwe, and my family still lives in Africa. Zimbabwe was once the centre of a thriving textile trade, producing fine quality cotton goods, printing and selling textiles all over the world, for some of the great names of the design world in the 1950's and 1960's. Sadly, as the economy of the country has declined and other countries have grown stronger in their production, the industry has shrunk and with it, the number of jobs.

Now, we cannot do much to help reverse the decline but we can help in a small way. I have asked a factory in Bulawayo, where I grew up, if they would be able to print us some t-shirts for the Singing Saturdays group and they have said that they can! So, for our next session, we will have a slightly different logo because the printing is a different type to the one we use now and cannot make all the colours that we currently use, and we will be taking orders for children and adults. I will post sizes on the website if you would like a t-shirt in the near future.

Singing Saturdays can be proud that it is helping people in Zimbabwe as well as doing a great job in Shetland. Thanks everyone.
