The Silk Mill, Derby

Thanks to the wonders of the internet (and an eagle-eyed contributor to the blog: Ms You-Know-Who-you-Are!) a virtual visit allows an explore of the whole place either as a 3D model or by strolling through by mouse-click. Although the mill is empty now of most of its equipment, some pieces have been retained and, with a bit of imagination, what must have been a bustling, noisy place can be once again conjoured up. Read more about this fascinating piece of textile history here.

V21 Artspace is an innovative way to showcase collections, exhibitions and shows, such as this one from Yinka Shonibare, bringing items and artefacts to a wider audience through 3D visualisations. You can see more wonder-filled things from V21 Artspace here.
