Shona goes to Australia
Our lovely neighbours in The Shetland Gallery have been preparing for the summer, but Shona has a Big Adventure first!
At this time of year we are all preparing for the summer. Walls need to be painted, books arranged, reference libraries sorted out, floors swept and windows washed. After all we are only a few weeks away now from Easter and official opening for visitors.
Across the way Shona and Alan have also been preparing for the summer season in The Shetland Gallery. But Shona has also been preparing for a trip to Australia where she will be taking part in what sounds like an amazing event in The Grampians, Grampians Textures.
Shona is joining a group of teachers and tutors to show, demonstrate and workshop various techniques in textile making. For our friend it is free machine embroidery, of course, and we have been watching progress of demo pieces and enjoying the constant flow of ideas that emanates from the studio next door. Aren't we lucky to have such talented people nearby? Have a lovely trip, Shona, and enjoy every second of the Southern Hemisphere sunshine. When you return it will be summer season here with those long Shetland days and beautiful light. And we look forward to your tales of derring-do Down Under.
