Weaving The Shetland Throw
Shetland is always an inspiring place and we try to capture some of the landscape in the pieces we weave in the studio.
Fiona Daly was our weaver in residence a few years back and left us with beautiful designs for blankets. The aim was to create something based on Fair Isle knitting but Fiona created something which not only reflected those patterns but also took ideas from the scenery of these islands. Here is a short film showing some of the process of making these beautiful throws. Thank you, Fiona!
We are making sixty of these throws, thirty in light grey and thirty in darker charcoal grey and we are now weaving numbers 32 to 44. If you want more information about the throws, please get in touch.
