Shetland Textile Museum

If you are coming to Shetland, pay a visit to the Shetland Textile Museum. 

Housed in the Bod of Germista, the Museum is small but full of treasures. The cheery sight of woolly goods greets you when you open the front door and then there is plenty to see in the display areas. 

We are very proud to have some of our woven fabrics and goods in the displays, and it is always good to see the old loom warped up and ready to weave cloth. And this season there is a fantastic exhibition upstairs of Victoria Gibson's knitwear business, full of wonderful colour. 

Opening soon is the student exhibition from Shetland College's textiles course, and demonstrations and events throughout the summer.
