New cloth from The Shetland Tweed Company

We are very proud to have made some new cloth for The Shetland Tweed Company which has just come back from the finishers.

The cloth is called simply "Shetland" and was created by hand-warping Alvin-the-loom with the colours of the changing sky, land and sea in the Spring of the year, and then woven by the same method. The colours change and alter throughout the cloth, creating a kaleidoscope of hue and shades, just like the views from the studio windows as the cloud shadows slide across the hills and waves and the light illuminates patches on the heathery peat.
