Shetland Graduates Show
An exhibition opened today in the Shetland Museum in Lerwick of work from five Shetland graduates from art colleges across the country. The show is in the Museum's Gadderie space, and I was particularly taken with Amy Gear's embroidered, etched and hand-manipulated prints on paper and jewellery maker Sarah Sidgwick's silver pieces created using the patterns that illness and disease leave on the body. Maybe not to everyone's taste but interesting and I loved them! Helen Witham's knitted pieces are hung in the centre of the space; beautiful colours and patterns including some lace knit.
The shows normally run for a month in the Museum.
