This week's blog
This week I have been on training in Otautahi Christchurch and then on holiday for a couple of days.
Our route has taken us from Mawhera Greymouth through to Reefton and then across Lewis Pass with its spectacular views. A night on a vineyard where we played with lambs and kids (of the goat kind), drank wine and discussed wool with the owner (who also has a flock of sheep about which more next week) just outside Otautahi Christchurch, followed by a few days in the city for the course and shopping and galleries. We then drove down to Oamaru Te Oha-a-Maru to visit McLean & Co for an overnight stay. We had a fantastic visit looking at the Hattersley Looms on which the fabrics are woven, and talked all things textile and art well into the night. The following day we drove north again and are currently at a friends' house on their deer farm in the stunning scenery of Canterbury.
This has been an excellent trip. There has been a lot to see and talk about, and the rest has been good after these last six months in our new home.
While we have been away there has been plenty to write about on the blog but time has not been on my side so I apologise that this week there are no other articles. Next week's blog will include more about the trip.
