Robyn Kahukiwa is a Maori artist who began to paint in the 1960s while living in Mawhera Greymouth.

In the works that the artist has produced over the past decades political and social comment have dominated as in, for example, The Migration, a painting that describes the social conditions of migrants in the 1970s. Te Papa holds a collection of works and this link is to an interview with the artist.
