Robert Stewart grew up in Glasgow and studied at Glasgow School of Art in the 1940s.
In his life Robert worked in the many fields, printed and woven textiles, ceramics, murals, art and tapestry. He also taught for thirty-five years at GSA, and many of his designs and works will be familiar to readers.
A new book Robert Stewart. Design 1946-95 has been added to the studio library. Written by Liz Arthur, curator of costume and textiles for Glasgow Museums and the Burrell Collection, the book is filled with images from all areas of Robert's work, including fashion.
