Reflections Apo Hands
A new booklet of photographs and dialect poetry has been published, all to do with knitting and dementia..
As part of the Luminate Festival, Scotland's creative ageing event, the Shetland branch of Alzheimer Scotland worked with Jacqueline Clark and John Coutts to look at how hands and knitting are affected by the disease. This lovely little book is the result, with pictures of those hands which have made generations of knitwear, and dialect poems about the onset of dementia and what that has done to the crafting of garments.
The book is available from Alzheimer Scotland in Lerwick and was published by Shetland FirWirds which supports the dialect.
