Quilts as protest
Recently on the news there was an article about Nedra Bonds, a quilter who uses her craft to protest (and celebrate).
The article is written by Nedra, who tells her story about using quilting with passion and conviction. Readers will know that quilts have been used to pass on messages for centuries (we have a couple of Temperance Movement quilts in the collection, and we also have two others - one from Zimbabwe entitled A Woman's Day and its companion piece A Crofting Life which we did as a community project a few years ago) and this article is fascinating reading. Have a look at it and at the work on the BBC Magazine website.
