The costumes of Piero Tosi

A show dedicated to the Italian costume designer, Piero Tosi, was another one of the highlights of our recent trip to Florence. 

Piero Tosi's costumes, created for film-makers like Pasolini and Zeffirelli and worn by actors like Maria Calas in Medea are unexpected and a real joy. Exuberant, imaginative and fabulous, these costumes are on display in the Pitti Palace, and nearby are the permanent displays of clothing dating from the 18th Century to the 20th plus fragments and reconstructions of clothes worn by the Medici's.
