The ancient art of origami has teamed up with science to come up with a robot that builds itself.

A clever combination of polymers which shrink when they are heated, and materials which maintain their rigidity, the robots may be ungainly but they do work. Perhaps this is the future of robotics and one day we will have robots which we can build and dismantle at will. Easy for storage!
