Something for nothing?

The British Library has put some of its collection of images on the internet for use by anybody... for free.

You can check out the gift here and also read an interesting article about why much more art and design should be free on the Guardian site. As a case in point, have a look at the wallpapers (real ones, not computer screen types) that you can print absolutely free from NASA. Now that really is a gift!
