Nick Cave's Soundsuits

Nick Cave is inspired by African masquerade traditions, armouring, ceremony and fashion to create amazing all-enclosing costumes called Soundsuits. 

The artist is best known for these art works, which can be seen as performance pieces or as art objects in their own right. When worn they act to conceal the performer, allowing more freedom to express things that cannot easily be shown. As objects they are striking, witty, serious and joyous.
