Nathan Vincent

Nathan Vincent is an artist who creates humorous and evocative works of art using crochet.

Crochet, according to Nathan, allows his pieces to be more structured than knitted pieces and that can clearly be seen in the series that he created in 2014/15, Let's Play War! His recreations of the small, plastic army figures that were around a few decades ago and which used to entertain boys and girls for hours on end are scaled-up for an installation. His 2011 Locker Room installation is a replica which oozes wry humour. And the use of crochet makes it all rather cosy!

Head on over to the TextileArtist website and read the interview with Nathan. And thank you to our loyal reader, Mr H, who sent this one in.
