Presenting data in sound and sculpture

The rise and rise of Big Data and all its ensuing dilemmas and conundrums presents opportunities for new ways of displaying information.

Nathalie Miebach, an American artist, uses scientific data from weather related phenomena along with their human experiences to create sculptures and music. By presenting data in this way it gives a different face to such things as climate change or disasters. Using painting, drawing, weaving, beading, and many other art and craft techniques, Nathalie creates things to provoke thought and new ideas about our role in the planet's health.

Check out the artist's website at http://nathaliemiebach.com/portfolio.html and also take a look at the music section where graphic scores and sculptures can be seen.
