Wool on the Moon
Lanaco, a New Zealand company that makes filters and masks from wool, is about to launch into space.
In August of this year, the company provided air filters for NASA's Orion spacecraft but that launch was cancelled. Now the new date for sending the craft into space is November 14th. This will be an unmanned flight with a manned mission in 2024.
The wool filters provide valuable time for astronauts if there is a fire onboard by retarding the fire and trapping microparticles. Hurrah for wool!
