Ready to tell all
Across the water, in Stockholm, the photographer Miriam Backstrom has created an amazing tapestry.
Working in collaboration with a weaving mill in Flanders, Belgium, Miriam designed the artwork for the New Karolinska Sodna University Hospital, in the Sune Bregstrom Auditorium. Resting in three layers, the work can be unrolled to encompass half the auditorium, inspiring conversation and sparking the imagination. Unfortunately, there does not seem to be an information on the internet about this piece, except for a photograph of part of its length. I think this shows just a portion of the complete tapestry, so if anyone out there in Internetland can help with some more information and photographs I shall be very grateful.
Art in Swedish Hospitals is an important part of patient care. 1% of every construction budget is earmarked for art. Have a look at this article for the reasons why.
