Often credited with inventing the mini-skirt, Mary Quant was an pioneer of British fashion.
The designer's irreverent approach to the old brought a freshness and vitality to the High Street in the Swinging Sixties. Bold shapes and colours, combined with a new take on manufacturing and retailing, meant that there was always something new and exciting to see in the shop window.
