Marble

Marble, that most luxurious of stone, is the focus of this 2014 film by Yuri Ancanari.

The way the huge slabs of rock are eased from their resting places and toppled using the skills and the choreography of the "Quarry Boss" so enchanted the film-maker that he spent a year in Northwest  Italy, recording the way the blocks are split and manoeuvered by excavators  guided by expert hand gestures. Amazing!
