A tradition of weaving - Maori marae

We have a new book in the library - Know your Maori weaving, a slim volume that belies the importance of weave in Maori tradition as is evidenced in the photographs below of a marae in the Auckland Museum. The colours of the woven and tied panels, the wood carving, and the richness of the colours and the space are truly astonishing and very beautiful.
