Mr Mandela and the man who made his shirts

The news has been full of the passing of Mr Mandela.  Now we meet the man who made his shirts.

Nelson Mandela was a larger than life figure and it is absolutely par for the course that he wore those colourful shirts which became almost a trade-mark. The man who made them, Pathe O, apparently sold the shirts to Miriam Makeba who presented them to the newly-released-from-prison Madiba as a gift. The rest, as they say, is history.
