Lucy Sparrow's felted supermarket groceries
How about this for large-scale whimsy? A supermarket stocked with felted groceries.
Artist Lucy Sparrow has created more than 31,000 felted goods including lobsters, pork chops, peppers, tea and biscuits, and installed them in an hotel in Los Angeles. Lucy has done this before; you may remember the cornershop, but this piece is much larger and more ambitious. Apparently it took a year for Lucy and five assistants to make all the products, which can be bought from the shop. Oh, and to pay for it all, there is a felted ATM too!
