Crafts in Greenland

Even in the most remote-to-us parts of the planet people make beautiful things.

The urge to create must be one of the most important we have as humans. Here is a taster of the creative things we saw around us in Greenland - embroidery and leatherwork, iconography (absolutely NOT graffiti as I mistakenly called it - sorry!), the trigger of a harpoon decorated with animals of bone, and artists carving and polishing antler and bone. My favourite is the narwhale heads made by the school children out of ceramic and wood. Isn't that a fantastic and fantastical display!
