Knitting a car!
This has come in from Hazel Hughson at Shetland Arts. Looks like fun with a very serious message. Anything that helps to make the roads safer for everyone can only be a good thing.
"You might already know about "Ignition", it's a Shetland Arts community production supported by the National Theatre of Scotland. The project was designed carefully to relay the serious message of safe driving to young Shetland people in a thoughtful and alternative way through performance and the arts. One of the many happy outcomes will be that a number of young drivers will go through an advanced driving course.
The presence of a knitted car is a creative and important part of the message and a number of us are busy knitting up sections of bonnet, boot and bumpers in Jamieson & Smith's chunky Shetland yarns.
If you would like to join us, to knit a section to cover the small Peugeot 107 , please contact Jacqui Clark on 07748886565 or jacqui.clark@yahoo.co.uk .
Yarn, needles and paper templates are provided."
