Kniterate - a digital knitting machine

We received news this week of a digital knitting machine which looks like a whole lotta fun to use!

Although the news item on designboom.com (thanks, guys) refers to the technology as printing, this is actually a modern version of the domestic knitting machine but with a difference. The creator of knitwear can design on an app and then send the files straight to the machine to be knitted up. It does look like this machine, designed to be affordable and usable, could cut waste down and help individuals to come up with new designs simply and quickly by making use of digital accessibility.
