John Lewis
On the last textile tour we had a guest who works for John Lewis, familiar to those of us in the UK as department stores and Waitrose groceries. Susanne told us about their textile collection.
Apparently, in the village of Cookham, famous for the painter, Stanley Spencer, there is a national collection of textiles owned by John Lewis. It is open to the public on Saturdays from 10am until 4pm, and from the sounds of it would be a great place to visit and research. Unfortunately I cannot find much on the internet about it except this link. If you go, send us some information so I can let others know.
