Japanese Costume and Textile Arts

A new book has just arrived to add to the reference collection - Japanese Costume and Textile Arts by Seiroku Noma.

This book is Volume 16 of The Heibonsha Survey of Japanese Art, this English edition printed in 1974, and it will be an invaluable resource for inspiration and design.

As regular readers of the blog will know, we have been accumulating costume and dress for reference for years now and have a small but growing subset of Japanese jackets and kimono, some with beautifully printed linings and others with interesting weave patterns, and we have both men and women's pieces. (If you would like to see them, please ask. We would be delighted to show you.) This book will go nicely with that collection!
