IslandSongs - a very special experience

Each year, for the past ten years, I have held an event in the North Isles which brings musicians and choreographers to the isles to teach a musical in a weekend, from scratch. The event is unique and we always leave it feeling tired but happy. The music brings folk together from all across Shetland and even further away, and I am very proud that we are celebrating the return of Lin Marsh and Wendy Cook this year to work with Lin's piece, Tam Lin. Last year's event was a whole lot of fun and we left the hall feeling elated and very much alive, full of community spirit and happiness.

IslandSongs is on the 30th June and 1st July this year, in Haroldswick, Unst, and it is for families, young people aged nine upward and adults, all working together to create the magic that is musical theatre.
