How to say "Hello" in Shetland

Two friends from Australia came on one of the textile tours a little while back and returned home full of enthusiasm!

Ann and Sue loved the tour so much that they created some art to hang at the entrance to the Ballan Community House. With their permission I am sharing their work. Doesn't it look like a Whole Load of Fun has been had!

Incidentally, to say "hello" in the isles we say "aye, aye" but do be careful if you use it. The tone of voice accompanied sometimes by one eyebrow lifting, matters because the phrase then conveys scepticism.
