A TED talk which really makes a difference

How about this for a wonderful idea! Weaving to the rescue. 

Franz Freudenthal presents his idea in this TED talk, helping to repair the hearts of Bolivian children born with a disease which causes a hole in the organ. Apparently as altitude increases so the prevalence of this problem multiplies too. Weaving supplied the answer - the indigenous craft of the country supplied a simple, elegant and absolutely stunning solution to this literally heart-breaking condition!
