Greetings from Greece

This year, as you know, we are in Athens for two months and I am writing this from the island of Santorini where we have spent a few days.

Over the past three weeks we have visited many galleries and museums and walked many miles across Athens. It is good to have a few days of something different; peaceful and calm, although, this being the low season for visitors, the sound of jackhammers, drills and concrete mixers accompanies the tinkle of mule bells as the latter walk up and down the narrow lanes, carying building supplies. Sitting on the side of a volcano though is ample recompense for a little noise!

Greece has been a revelation to us. This blog is about what we have found in the first few weeks of our stay here. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as we have enjoyed discovering it for ourselves to share with you.
