How to dress for the occasion

We have just bought a rather charming and delightful book for the collection: The Traditional Ways of Putting on Cloth for Men and Woman...

This book(let - it is only 41 pages long) is a photographic guide to how to put on the cloths from Ghana to make a point; women to look their best and men for various reasons such as "Humility" or "I am self-sufficient financially". The book was printed in Ghana 1993 and this is the 4th Edition. The author, Nana J. V. Owusu-Ansah was a Research Fellow at the College of Art in the University of Science and Technology in Kumasi and was "one of the contribtuions to the projection of the African Personality." It is a piece of writing full of personality and idiosyncracy. What a lovely find!

Visitors are welcome to browse the reference library but, if you want to see this rather special publication, please ask and I will be delighted to show you.
