Synthetic life made from fibres

Canadian architect, Philip Beesley, has been working with fashion, fibres and fixings for a while. We have been bowled over by this...

Epiphyte Chamber has opened in the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Seoul, Korea. The installation uses fibres, connectors and armatures all made by digital fabrication to create a space where you can experience movement and sound, rather like being in a living, breathing creature. Isn't it amazing? I love the way the tendrils come towards people in the video and the sounds are rather unearthly, adding to the mystery.

Philip's other work is just as extraordinary. Have a browse through his website and see what you think.
