Our first order
The start of any new venture is fantastic and scary at the same time, so it is exhilarating and daunting to be starting to weave our first length of cloth for an order.
Threads for warping upThe cloth comes from our residency programme when Kirsty (yes, the same Kirsty who now works at the studio) designed it as an upholstery fabric. The material is all wool and the colours are from the Unst landscape.

Luckily for us we have a studio dog who likes to help. It is not always ideal - Tybalt is forbidden from coming near the threads when they are on the creel - but he knows how to get his own way. There is nothing like a length of bubble wrap to lie on to ensure you get noticed!
